Is Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance worth your time

Defiance has its moments. The detailed and brutal battles, the ability to control iconic Terminators, and the resource management system between missions offer glimpses of a promising RTS experience. However, the game stumbles in several key areas:
  • Frustrating Mission Design: Repetitive objectives, limited strategic choices, and reliance on save-scumming due to inconsistent AI behavior can make the campaign feel like a chore.
  • Limited Scope: The lack of diverse mission types and a mere four maps in multiplayer leave the experience feeling shallow and repetitive.
  • Confusing Unit Management: The "best unit" problem and the forced disbandment of units due to arbitrary supply limitations hinder strategic depth and experimentation.
[REVIEW] Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance
Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance is a misguided effort to capture the essence of a strategic conflict between humans and robots. While it has some redeeming features, its annoying design decisions and limited scope keep it from realizing its full potential. If you want a really engaging and strategic RTS experience, you should go elsewhere. However, if you're a die-hard Terminator enthusiast who craves the opportunity to lead Terminators in war, Defiance may provide a momentary distraction, but be prepared for its faults.
