Senior Citizen needs to Register

DSWD wants Senior Citizen to Register to Create Information System
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is encouraging its clients and beneficiaries to register family members who are 60 years of age or older using the National Commission on Senior Citizens (NCSC) online registration system. This initiative is part of the agency's ongoing efforts to establish a senior citizen information system.

According to DSWD Assistant Secretary Romel Lopez, the national database of senior citizens aims to collect information about older individuals across the country. This database will play a pivotal role in shaping the formulation and development of various programs, interventions, and services for the senior citizen sector.

For older individuals with internet access, they have the option to complete online applications and register for free on the official NCSC website, which is located at ncsc.gov.ph.

Alternatively, those who do not have internet access can choose to register manually. They can do so by visiting the Office of Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA) in their respective local government unit (LGU).

This initiative reflects a proactive approach to gathering accurate data about the senior citizen population, which will enable the government to better address their needs and develop targeted support programs.
