While watching Video Games Awards, you can win a FREE Steam Deck

You can enter if you purchased a game on your Steam account during the last year
Do you enjoy playing video games? Do you enjoy seeing video game developers receive awards? Do you enjoy getting freebies? Then you'll adore Valve's latest giveaway: watch this year's Game Awards on SteamTV for a chance to win a new 512GB Steam Deck, which normally costs $649. The video game makers will receive the honors, but we will be the true victors of the evening.

The rules are straightforward. To be eligible, you must live in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, or the European Union and have made a purchase on your Steam account between November 14, 2021 and November 14, 2022. That implies you're fine if you bought a game inside the last year. But you can't just go out and buy something on Steam right now and expect to compete: if your most recent purchase was after November 14, it won't count. If you meet those requirements, you may register for the

Surprisingly, you may enter the contest by mail. Print your name, address, city, state, nation, postal code, email address, Steam account name, phone number, and the name and date of the giveaway ("The Game Awards 2022 Giveaway") on a four-inch by six-inch note card. The message should be mailed to Valve Corporation, P.O. Box 1688, Bellevue, WA 98009-1688. You'll qualify as long as the message is postmarked by the eighth and received by the 19th, implying Valve has some additional Steam Decks available after the Game Awards.

Once entered, all you have to do is watch the Game Awards on Steam's website or SteamTV on December 8 while logged into the Steam account with which you registered. The live feed will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET (4:30 p.m. PT) (4:30 p.m. PT). Valve will select one winner per minute from the pool of registered people viewing the presentation, and since the awards are scheduled to last three hours, they appear to be giving away around 180 units. Your odds are determined by how many registered Steam accounts tune in during the night. We can only hope for a poor attendance.

If you win, your account name will be broadcast during the stream, so don't worry if you don't hear it. Valve will send you an email confirming your victory, and if you don't already have one on file, they may require a delivery address for the reward. Don't ignore this request; if Valve doesn't get your address by December 16, you will forfeit the prize.

Even if you don't win, all registrants will receive an animated Steam Pal sticker. Isn't it just as good?
