[REVIEW] Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F is here to slap you right back into that world. But is it a worthy sequel, or just a dusty ol' retread?
Remember those sweet action comedies from the 80s? All sunshine, explosions, and Eddie Murphy cracking-wise? Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F is here to slap you right back into that world. But is it a worthy sequel, or just a dusty ol' retread?
The movie brings back the one and only Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley, that Detroit cop with a knack for landing in trouble in Beverly Hills. This time, it's his daughter who's in hot water, so Axel has to team up with some new-school detectives.

The film totally gets that you got to respect the classics, but also bring in some fresh faces. Familiar characters like Billy Rosewood and that grumpy Captain Taggart are back, but they don't steal the show from the new folks. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is great as Axel's partner who's not exactly thrilled to be babysitting a loose cannon. Taylor Paige is awesome as Axel's daughter who's not buying his whole "dad of the year" act.

The fight scenes and car chases are pure 80s gold. Think shootouts, chases, and maybe even a questionable helicopter stunt (don't worry, it's hilarious). It might not be as fancy as today's action flicks, but there's a certain goofy charm. Plus, there's a secret cameo that'll have you snorting out loud.

The music is like a trip down memory lane. Think epic synth tracks that scream 1984, perfectly capturing the Beverly Hills Cop vibe. They even threw in some classic tunes from the original movies. But there's one weird misstep – a new rap song that feels like it crashed the wrong party.

All in all, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F is a blast from the 80s past. It's funny, action-packed, and will make you crave those neon-colored clothes you swore you'd never wear again.

If you loved the originals and wanna see Eddie Murphy back in action, then heck yeah! If you're looking for some super deep, mind-blowing action movie, this might not be it.
