She's a long way away from her former life fighting for the Imperium, the brutal interstellar royal empire bent on controlling the galaxy.
When a colony on the edge of the galaxy finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, they dispatch Kora on a mission to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand. Kora assembles a ragtag group of misfits and outcasts, including a desert warrior, a pair of skilled engineers, and a mysterious psychic. Together, they must use their unique skills and abilities to fight back against the Imperium's overwhelming forces.
The trailer is full of visually stunning action sequences, including space battles, sword fights, and hand-to-hand combat. The film's cast is also impressive, with Boutella joined by Charlie Hunnam, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, and Jena Malone.
Rebel Moon: Part One – A Child of Fire is scheduled to be released on December 22, 2023, by Netflix, with a limited theatrical release being planned. A follow-up, Rebel Moon: Part Two – The Scargiver, is set to release on April 19, 2024.
