You Can Get Lifetime Free McDonald's

The McGold card entitles you to free fast food for the rest of your life, regardless matter how long that may be
With inflation reaching 7.7% in October and food costs rising in supermarkets and restaurants alike, the promise of free meals becomes more appealing by the day. Especially when it comes to promised free meals "for life," even if it is from McDonald's. That is just what McDonald's is providing to holders of its illusive McGold card.

I'll leave the debate about whether it's healthy to consume McDonald's on a daily basis to those with more time and aversion to joy. (Of course, you may consume "unhealthy" things and yet be healthy.) I'm here to tell you how to win this thing.

How can I obtain a McGold Card?

The McGold Card is not a new concept. It has been around for years, but it has never been made public until today. You may win one by entering the McDonald's for Life Appstake [sic], a contest that runs from December 5 to December 25 on the official McDonald's mobile app. To be eligible to enter, you must first sign up for the MyMcDonald's Rewards program with a valid email address, which is completely free.

A purchase made using the app qualifies you for the (sigh) appstakes for the McGold card. Fill out a form to participate without making a purchase (why would you want to win McDonald's if you don't want to eat McDonald's?). Throughout the offer, you may enter once each day.

What does the McGold card entitle me to?

The McGold Card is valid for two meals every week for 50 years, according to the official guidelines. The small print has no boundaries on what constitutes a "meal," but it does state that the total yearly value of the card is $1,040 each year for the next 50 years. If you don't intend to live that long, you can select a one-year card worth $1,040 and a cash award of $50,960 instead. You will also be given the option of giving similar McGold cards to three of your friends so that they may share in the prizes with you. A lovely touch: the winner will also receive a cheque for $22,285 to "assist in the offset of taxes on the Prize." Unfortunately, your fortunate pals will not be eligible for such tax breaks.

Winning chances

For the length of the three-week contest, one winner will be revealed each week. The amount of individuals that enter during a particular week determines your odds of winning, although it's reasonable to presume they're minimal (remember that whole "billions and billions served" thing?). If you win, you'll receive an email and a push notice from the McDonald's app. Best of luck—worst case scenario, you ate some McDonald's and didn't win. (Or, you freak, you filled out a no-purchase entry.)
