You Can Finally Unsubscribe from Someone on Netflix

Sorry, moochers, your free Netflix binges are over
Netflix may discontinue free password sharing in the near future, but credentials are still freely shared in the meanwhile. If you're liberal with your Netflix account, you've no doubt encountered moochers. Perhaps you gave your login to a buddy so they could watch Stranger Things, or you're still connected into an ex's TV and see a lot of stuff you didn't view. In any event, there is now a simple way to remove someone from your Netflix account.

Previously, the only method to deal with Netflix hoarders was to sign out of all devices. Sure, this function removes any undesirable users from the account, but it also removes you from the account on any devices where you are logged in. Signing back into Netflix on your TV, iPad, smartphone, or wherever you view is the cost of Netflix justice. In a nutshell, it wasn't enjoyable.

Netflix now allows customers to deactivate specific devices from their accounts, making the procedure considerably easier. You can now be confident that no unauthorized users are watching

Of course, Netflix's timing is questionable. This option is most likely being added to eliminate free password sharing, not to make your life simpler. After all, it will begin billing you for any users who stream outside your household, thus there should be an option to prevent them from being added to your monthly subscription.

How to Remove Users from Your Netflix Account Selectively

If you see any unusual streaming on your account, log in from a browser, choose your profile, then click your symbol in the upper right and select "Account." You can also log in

Click "Manage access and devices" from here to get a list of all active Netflix sessions on your account. Each session will have the user, device, relative location, date, and time, allowing you to determine which sessions are safe and which are not. If you see a session you want to start, simply click "Sign Out," and Netflix will remove that device's access to your account after a few moments.

You're safe as long as the person doesn't know your Netflix password. However, if they do know it, they can clearly log in again. If you really want to keep them out, change your password using this link. If you still want to take the nuclear option, go to the main Account settings page and look for "Sign out of all devices" under "Manage access and devices."
