Morton's The Steakhouse is coming to the Philippines

If the arrival of premium steakhouses is a sign of increased consumer prosperity, the Philippines must be on the right track
Morton's The Steakhouse, a famed carnivore sanctuary in America, is set to open in town shortly. We learned that Ayala Land has reached a deal with Morton's to establish a restaurant in Ayala Triangle Tower Two. After Singapore, this will be Morton's second market in Southeast Asia.
Morton's founded its first restaurant in Chicago in 1978 and has since grown into a major US franchise providing prime aged steaks. The brand has reached foreign markets such as Toronto and Mexico.

Morton's also has locations in Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Taipei, and Tokyo.
Arnie Morton and Klaus Fritsch, who had previously worked at Montreal's Playboy Club, cofounded Morton's. Hugh Hefner's companion was the late Arnie Morton, who hailed from a family of restaurateurs. While the chain still bears his name, ownership of the brand has long since changed hands. It is now owned by the restaurant conglomerate Landry's, which is also involved in the hotel, entertainment, and gaming industries.

Given the difficulties in reserving tables at prominent restaurants now that pandemic lockdowns have ended, discriminating city dwellers can only welcome new luxury dining alternatives with open arms and lips.
