John Wick's Future Could Involve Video Games

When John believes he's out, the AAA gaming business pulls him back in
Keanu Reeves has shot, stabbed, library book'd, and horsed scores of thugs and hired shooters to death in three (almost four) John Wick flicks since 2014. While we know that the franchise will continue with the planned prequel series The Continental, and that another picture will be released in a few of years (plus the Ballerina spinoff film apparently lead by Ana de Armas), Lionsgate is seeking to keep the series running in any way it can. And in this day and age of IP and brands moving from one medium to another, video games aren't out of the question.

Earlier this week, Lionsgate CEO John Feltheimer stated that the business was looking at concepts for a video game based on the movie. While nothing is etched in stone, he did hint that if a game is made, it will most likely be from a triple-A developer. "I don't want to get ahead of myself, but we've been receiving bids." We are obviously interested in pushing forward on that, but I don't want to say anything more about that at this moment."

So date, the sole video game in the series has been John Wick Hex, a 2019 timeline strategy game from developer Bithell Games that serves as a precursor to the movie. Aside from portraying Johnny Silverhand in 2020's Cyberpunk 2077, Reeves also portrayed Neo in the live-action sequences of 2003's Enter the Matrix, and again in last year's The Matrix Awakens tech demo. Even if he doesn't star in the game, he'll almost certainly appear in some form, considering that the series is essentially based around him.

But the main question is who can transfer John Wick's blend of kung fu and gunplay to a video game format and have them both seem equally rewarding instead of a shooter with some not-so-bad melee combat? Let us know in the comments who you believe could make that happen.
