DISCLAIMER, this is a personal review, I'm not a Professional Movie Reviewer, and I did not play any Monster Hunter games yet. So how am I qualify to review this movie? well it all up to you, if you want to continue reading, and believe me on what am I saying in this blog.

First, as a Gamer, and I had a lot of idea on what is Monster Hunter game, It basically Action RPG that kill Monsters that's a lot bigger than you, It's like you are fighting a Boss every time, like Bloodborne or Demon's Souls.

But I won't be saying much about the videogame, but you are here for the movie. thus we can never exclude comparing this movie to its Videogame counterpart. And besides it all started in games.

We get a lot of trailers and we already saw the characters, armor, weapons and a glimpse of a Monster. We all excited with this movie, but we saw just normal Action movie with a creature killing human.

But do you need to play the games before watching this movie? Definitely NOT. You can learn more about the movie just by watching it.

These are things that I noticed on the movie:

They still want to have Tony Jaa's Action moment, but its not necessary
Tony Jaa is a famous Asian action star with his Muay Thai skills in Ong-Bak Trilogy, and seems like the director wants to make a fight scene with him, but unfortunately there is no one to fight with, and hand to hand combat is unnecessary for fight a giant monster.

Bullet being heated by fire will blow up, but not in the direction you want but all over the place, so its dangerous.

Cauterize or Sterilize the wound with gun powder

We've seen it in most movies, like Rambo, some say it cleanse and close the wounds.

She Had a Knife

She force her self way out of the Spider's web using hands, but she got a knife on her boots

Did she just forget? or just can't reach at that time?

Inconsistent?

There are a scene on the movie where Milla Jovovich she fights Rathalos, she is wearing an Arm Crossbow, or the Slinger in the game, attach to her left arm from the start, then alternately wears to right arm, maybe when the body double wears it on right arm.

You will easily got bored from start to the middle of the movie, because there's not much characters, no lines just few words, because they can understand each other, they just use their own sign, and they manage to kill Black Diablos in the middle of the movie. so you will think what will happen next. But the fun starts after that.

You will start seeing other Monsters like Gore Magala, and other Character Class in the game. The good thing in this movie is that, this is Movie is Produced by Tencent Pictures, same company that brought us Monster Hunter Online, an MMORPG version of the game, where you can play with other players all over the world regardless of the country. And in this film, there are characters with difference race and different abilities and skills.

This movie is Movie gets half rating from reviewers maybe because of lack of Monster fight or appearances, same goes to weapons and characters. but that would be for a Gamer perspective.
