Darryl Yap's film will star Isko Moreno as Ninoy Aquino

Director Darryl Yap stated that actor-politician Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso has been cast as late former senator Ninoy Aquino in the upcoming film "Martyr or Murderer"
Moreno, who stood for president in the May 9 elections, can be seen carrying the screenplay for the film as Yap disclosed his casting last Friday, Nov. 18, on his Facebook page.

"Isko Moreno in the role of Ninoy Aquino." "The Filipino is worth dying for... on the inside," Yap added.

"Martyr or Murderer" is the follow-up to Yap's much panned "Maid in Malacaang," which depicted the last 72 hours of the Marcos family in the Palace during the tumultuous 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution.
Andy Baustista, former chairman of the Commission on Elections (Comelec), did not appear to agree of Moreno's casting, referring to it as a "Trojan [horse]" on his Twitter page last Saturday, Nov. 19.
According to Yap, "Martyr or Murderer" will be released in February 2023, just in time for the 50th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.

Its prequel "Maid in Malacaang" was chastised by a number of groups, including director Joel Lamangan, who expressed disgust at the film and urged fellow artists not to join those who "help cover up the truth." Critics and martial law survivors also saw it as an attempt to contradict historical facts about the Marcos family.
