Many Filipinos would be familiar with White Castle Whiskey, the renowned liquor brand that prides itself on being "the only inexpensive Philippine whisky on the market" as well as having smooth, hangover-free booze. The historically masculine brand has been associated with its famous calendar heroines and risqué — if not controversial — advertisements, and it has been a drink of choice for Titos (uncles) for decades.
After breaking its long-standing tradition by using chef and Youtuber Ryan Morales Reyes, aka Ninong Ry, on the cover, White Castle Whisky has proceeded to diverge from the norm for its 2022 calendar model – prepare for White Castle Whisky "Gurl" Sassa Gurl!
"Yung laging taga-luto tuwing may inuman ng 2021, ang calendar model namin." "In 2021, our calendar model was the one who cooked the food at every drinking session; in 2022, our calendar model is the one who pours your glass at every session," White Castle Whisky wrote on Facebook, before introducing Sassa Gurl, Felix Petate Jr. in real life, known for their hilarious TikTok content.
Naturally, the brand's selection for this year's calendar model tickled the internet's ribs.
Many mocked how high the scotch seemed to be poured in a drinking glass, which is usually used for a shot or on ice.
"Bakit ginawang iced tea?" (Why does this seem like iced tea?)" questioned one netizen.
"Nice work, Sassa!" "Pero sis, ang taas ng tagay (But sis, the shot is so high)," said Karl Zarate, a fellow content maker.

Despite the amusing visual, many people complimented the ad's inclusiveness and commended Sassa for shattering preconceptions.
