The late actor, who died over the weekend, portrayed Tommy Oliver in many Power Rangers incarnations
Power Rangers fans across the world are still reeling after the unexpected death of Mighty Morphin' star Jason David Frank this past weekend at the age of 49, with tributes pouring in from the Power Rangers and Super Sentai worlds, including a heartbreaking new video from Hasbro.
Hasbro released the memorial Wednesday evening, following a brief statement issued over the weekend in response to Frank's passing. "All of Ranger Nation is deeply saddened by the loss of Jason David Frank," read part of the statement. "JDF made countless fans happy over the years and will be greatly missed."
Ranger Nation, we mourn together. Today, we celebrate the heart, strength, and raw talent that Jason David Frank brought to Power Rangers as Tommy Oliver. He was truly a legend among us and we will miss him. May the Power protect him, always. pic.twitter.com/vIw1bUcDvD

Although Frank is best known for Tommy's debut in Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers as the Green, and then White, Power Rangers, his legacy as the character continued across the franchise, leading the Rangers as Zeo and Turbo's Red Ranger, and then Dino Thunder's Black Ranger—all of which are featured in the tribute, including his recent appearances in franchise anniversary episodes. It's a fitting tribute to a guy who helped launch the Power Rangers into the stratosphere in the '90s with Tommy's entrance, and it's a reminder of how many generations of Power Rangers fans have been impacted by his loss.
