How to Obtain Tickets for Taylor Swift's 'Eras' Tour

Tickets go on sale on November 15, but you should start planning now
This isn't a drill: Taylor Swift has revealed dates for her "The Eras Tour," her first tour since 2018. Even Taylor Swift couldn't stop COVID from canceling a planned world tour in 2020 in promotion of her 2019 album Lover.

Swift has released four new albums, including the latest Midnights, since her previous cycle of performances, not including re-recordings of prior albums. What I mean is that fans will definitely be hungry for tickets to these long-awaited events when they go on sale on Nov. 15—and if you are one of them, you need to start planning right away.

When will Taylor's tour begin?

Taylor's Eras Tour will begin on March 18, 2023, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. She will next perform at 26 more venues around the country, from Las Vegas to Chicago to Los Angeles. As of now, this is the complete list of tour dates and locations:

While you may anticipate Taylor Swift tickets to be prohibitively expensive, they are, at least on the low end, surprisingly inexpensive. According to Variety, tickets will cost between $49 and $449, with VIP packages costing between $199 and $899.

How can you obtain Eras Tour tickets?

If all the online chatter has you worried, don't be: Tickets haven't gone on sale, so you haven't missed out on one of Taylor's stadium gigs. Not yet, at any rate.

Even without the pent-up pandemic-era demand, purchasing Taylor Swift tickets has always been more of a battle. And this time, you'll be up against fellow Swifties who haven't seen Taylor perform live since 2018. I wish you luck because you will need it. Here's what you can do to enhance your chances.

Create an account with Ticketmaster. If you don't already have one, create one today. Yes, you may create one at any time during the procedure, but it's lot faster if you already have the account. Also, if you purchased Lover Fest tickets, you will have privileged status throughout this procedure, which means you will likely be able to acquire tickets before individuals who did not purchase Lover Fest seats. However, in order to claim that status, you must login in with the same Ticketmaster account that you used for Lover Fest.

Sign up for the Verified Fan Pre-Sale. You must do this. You will not be able to purchase tickets in the first round if you do not register. There's no need to rush: the website states it doesn't matter when you enter your name into the hat, as long as you do so by November 9 at 11:59 p.m. ET. If you try to register today, it may take some time (the wait is big), but I expect the process to speed up as time goes on. Will it, or won't it? I'm saying don't wait till the evening of November 9th.

Select your dates. When you reach the head of the line, you will have the opportunity to sign in with Ticketmaster (which is why having an account already is so important). Once logged in, input all required information, including the performance for which you want tickets. You must pick one show, but you may choose up to two backups in case your first option does not work out.

Coordination with your fellow Swifties is essential. Combine your efforts if you're attempting to get tickets with a group. If you live in a location with two accessible concerts (MetLife in New Jersey, for example, is booked for both May 26 and May 27), you may prioritize the 26th while a buddy prioritizes the 27th. You'll have a better chance of getting into at least one, if not both, shows this way.

When you've done entering all of your information, click the submit button. Be advised that the system is currently inoperable. Because there are so many individuals attempting to register at the same time, you may not be able to get through. I attempted registration twice before the system sent me back to the bottom of the list and had me wait again. Remember that it shouldn't matter when you register as long as you do it by November 10th, so you should be OK attempting again afterwards.

If you avoid the issues, you'll receive an email verifying your registration with instructions on what to do next. Even if you register, there is no assurance that you will receive tickets. You will have to wait to see whether you are chosen to purchase tickets. This is how it works.

What to do when The Eras Tour tickets go on sale

If you've been chosen to participate in the first round of ticket sales, you'll get an email on Monday, Nov. 14, with details on how to purchase your tickets. You will also receive a text message containing your own access code. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15. Time at the nearby venue The waiting room opens 10 minutes before the scheduled time, so be sure you check the link by 9:50 a.m. Another caution (there are many): having an access code does not guarantee you tickets; it merely allows you to purchase them.

When ticket sales begin, you will be given a place in line. If you pass, you will be able to purchase up to six tickets for any performance you were chosen for. Congratulations!

If all of that seems like too much work, or if you simply want to live dangerously, Ticketmaster has set a general sale for non-verified users beginning Friday, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. If you want to buy tickets, don't rely on this service. This tour's demand is expected to be historically high (point of context: Midnights just logged the best first-week album sales since 2015). If you had problems getting tickets during the presale, imagine how much more difficult it will be to get seats during the general sale.
