By 2025, Honda vehicles could have built-in PS5s

Sony may install PS5 consoles in Honda vehicles
Sony and Honda created a cooperative program dubbed Sony Honda Mobility earlier this year in September. The company's primary goal is to compete with other electric car firms, such as Tesla, by using Sony's entertainment offerings.

"Sony has content, services, and entertainment technologies that move people. We are adapting these assets to mobility, and this is our strength against Tesla," Sony Honda Mobility chief Izumi Kawanishi told The Financial Times (opens in new tab) (as reported by TheGamer).

Tesla has been enthusiastic on integrating games in its vehicles in recent years. For example, in 2021, it was claimed that the new Tesla Model S will be able to play both Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3. Earlier this year, Tesla CEO Elon Musk expressed his personal desire for Tesla vehicles to be able to play Steam games while on the road.

Kawanishi also stated that incorporating PS5 consoles inside Honda automobiles is "technologically possible," although the company hopes to launch the first such vehicle in the North American market by 2025 at the latest. However, Kawanishi understands where the problem begins, stating that the first stage in this process is "autonomous driving" in Honda vehicles.

Given the lengths Sony and Honda have yet to go in terms of automated driving, a 2025 release for such a car isn't out of the question.
