The batteries on these Ancheer eBike may fire, explode, or spark
The recall affects around 22,000 e-bikes sold online by Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Overstock, and Sears (among other shops). The Consumer Product Safety Commission made the announcement last week. Ancheer, the e-bike maker, stated that the voluntary recall was issued because "the lithium-ion batteries may, in some situations, ignite, burst, or spark, posing fire, explosion, and burn threats to users."
Which bikes are being recalled?
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recall concerns Ancheer e-bikes with the model AM001907. So far, the business has received six reports of accidents involving fire, explosions, or sparks from users. Four of these occurrences had burn injuries, according to the CPSC.
The bike's model can be discovered on the package and the instruction manual, but not on the bike itself. One method to tell whether you have the recalled model is if the cylindrical battery looks like a water bottle and is located just above the "Ancheer" white font emblem on the bike's frame. The bike features 26-inch wheels as well.
Between January 2016 and June 2022, the recalled bikes were sold for between $280 and $930 on the following websites: aliexpress.com, ancheer.shop, amazon.com, ebaby.com, newegg.com, overstock.com, rakuten.com, sears.com, walmart.com, and wish.com.

Call Ancheer at (888) 661-1330 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for a free new battery and battery mount. to 5 p.m. Except on public holidays, ET Monday through Friday. The CPSC in the United States advises users not to use the e-bikes until they get a free new battery and battery mount.
