Kevin Feige, the CEO of Marvel, has confirmed that Charlie Cox will reprise his role as Daredevil.
After months of speculation, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has finally found their Daredevil. During the press tour for Spider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed Charlie Cox is the franchise's Matt Murdock, should he return at some time in the MCU's future. This is Feige's first official remark on the casting, following a major fan campaign calling for the actor, who portrayed the lawyer in three seasons of a Netflix series, to return.
"If you see Daredevil in subsequent stuff, sure, Charlie Cox would be the guy playing Daredevil," Feige told CinemaBlend on Sunday. "Where we see it, how we see it, and when we see it is still to be determined."
There have been persistent speculations that Cox will return as Matt Murdock in No Way Home, though neither Feige nor Sony have officially commented on the topic. Cox has been tight-lipped, implying that he doesn't want to spoil any possible Marvel announcements.
"Also, if there was a chance of that occurring in the future, I don't want to say anything that may harm those possibilities because the folks high up at Marvel, maybe they see this material or hear what I say and that impacts," Cox continued. "I don't know. I have no clue. I appreciate how passionate the fans are, and I'm very, very, very touched that so many of them have gone online and voiced their desire for me to return."
