Bandai release Tamagotchi as wearable device in celebration for it's 25th Anniversary

Tamagotchi is returning, this time as a wearable to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the legendary toy. When the item initially came out in 1996, it became an instant hit with kids. The digital animals are making a comeback as colorful gadgets with touch and voice commands, as well as characters and things, that have been adapted to fit the current age and taste.

The owners may communicate with the gadgets via touch and voice commands. The new gadgets also have a longer battery life, lasting up to 30 hours, and can be recharged by USB.

Tamagotchi's maker, Bandai, unveiled the new wearable gadgets with a video created in conjunction with NiziU, a prominent Japanese pop trio.

According to CNET, Bandai has chosen to sell Tamagotchi wristwatch via lottery for the time being. Between June 17 and July 2, buyers can apply, and the winners will be revealed later in July. On November 23, the sale will be accessible to the general public in Japan. The international availability of the new gadgets is yet unknown.

The smartwatches will be priced at 7,480 yen each (roughly $67). Smart cards, which can be inserted into the smartwatch for add-on capabilities, may be purchased for 1,100 yen (approximately $10), according to the article.

Tamagotchi toys became a great hit in Japan after their release in 1996. They were so successful that an anime series and an animated film based on the toy figures were created. If these Tamagotchi characters didn't get the attention they required, they were more likely to die.

The latest version, according to Kotaku, a website dedicated to game reviews and other news, seems more like an egg-shaped wristwatch for youngsters. It also contains a pedometer that counts how many steps you take. The new Tamagotchi watches include wireless connection, allowing numerous Tamagotchi devices to communicate with each other.
