The game is set in the fictional world of Eos, which is divided into two opposing factions: the kingdom of Lucis, which protects the magical Crystal, and the empire of Niflheim, which seeks to control the Crystal. On the eve of peace negotiations between the two factions, Niflheim attacks the capital of Lucis, Insomnia, and steals the Crystal.
The heir to the Lucian throne, Prince Noctis Lucis Caelum, sets out on a quest to rescue the Crystal and defeat Niflheim. He is accompanied by his three friends: Gladiolus Amicitia, Ignis Scientia, and Prompto Argentum. Together, they travel across Eos, fighting Niflheim's forces and learning more about the Crystal and Noctis's destiny as the "True King".
Along the way, Noctis and his friends must also deal with the personal challenges of their own lives. Noctis is struggling to come to terms with his father's death and his role as king. Gladiolus is dealing with the loss of his father, who was killed in the attack on Insomnia. Ignis is losing his sight, and Prompto is struggling with his own self-doubt.
Despite the challenges they face, Noctis and his friends never give up on their quest. They eventually succeed in rescuing the Crystal and defeating Niflheim. In the end, Noctis learns that the true meaning of being a king is not about power or control, but about protecting the people he loves.
Final Fantasy XV is a story about friendship, brotherhood, and destiny. It is a story about finding your place in the world and fighting for what you believe in. It is a story that will stay with you long after you finish playing the game.
