It's Ryan Reynolds fault that we will see Hugh Jackman as Wolverine again

Ryan Reynolds has repeatedly pestered Jackman to reprise his role as Wolverine in Deadpool 3
Hugh Jackman says he "fully intended" to retire as Wolverine before Deadpool 3 comes out

Hugh Jackman has weighed in on Deadpool 3, in which his iconic character Wolverine joins forces with Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool. According to Deadline, Jackman stated that Reynolds had pestered him to return, despite the fact that Jackman thought he had finished portraying the part.

Jackman stated that he "totally intended" Logan to be his final appearance as Wolverine. However, after seeing the first Deadpool, Jackman felt a "uh-oh," as he was lured back to the character and the idea of working with Reynolds.

During a break from his Broadway production of The Music Man, Jackman drove to the beach and realized he wanted to play Wolverine again.

"As soon as I landed at the beach, I called Ryan [Reynolds] to see what the heck was going on, and then here we are. It happened so quick, and trust me, there's not a morning I don't wake up with Ryan Reynolds outside my home with posters screaming, 'Please,'" Jackman remarked. "He's constantly asking me about it. And I was like, 'Dude, I'm done. I'm done, I'm done, I'm done, I'm done, I'm done.' So then when he rang me [back], he was like, 'Are you serious?' So yeah."

Jackman stated he "truly meant it" when he declared Logan would be his final appearance as Wolverine. At the same time, he said, "Somewhere deep inside, this concept was certainly lurking and simmering."
Deadpool 3 is still a long way away, with a release date of November 8, 2024. The premise is unknown, but you can see Reynolds and Jackman discuss it in the amusing video above.
