SECRET CHARACTER OF ANT-MAN QUANTUMANIA REVEALED? QUASAR MCU DEBUT and Footage Analysis
As with other Marvel Studios films, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania speculations have begun to circulate on social media. According to one theory, William Jackson Harper will portray "Quaz" a telepathic rebel battling against Kang the Conqueror's (Jonathan Majors) Quantum Realm rule in the threequel. In an attempt to connect connections that may or may not exist, let us just ask: Could "Quaz" simply be a shortened word for Quasar?
We know William Jackson Harper is in the picture according to theater marketing materials, as the actor's name appears on the film's credits. Long renowned for his performance on The Good Place, Harper has recently emerged as a frontrunner to play Reed Richards in Marvel's Fantastic Four franchise. Because of his growing fame, one may assume that the actor will play a far greater part in the Marvel Cinematic Universe than a one-off supporting character...so why not Quasar?
Who exactly is Quasar?
Quasar, like most Marvel superhero masks, has been worn by a variety of characters over the years. However, the most renowned person to use the moniker is Wendell Vaughn, the guy who invented the costume. Vaughn is a pure quantum energy entity, a clear link to the Quantum Realm and, by extension, the events of Quantumania.
Furthermore, Quasar is the owner of the Quantum Bands, which enable someone to summon energy from the Quantum Zone—ahem, Realm—and employ it to their advantage.
Is Quasar making an appearance in the MCU?
The million-dollar issue is if Quasar will appear in the MCU. If Harper w toas created the character in Quantumania, he'll most likely appear again in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. After all, considering that the threequel has been billed as the final project using that version of the period, there has been some conjecture that a group like the Annihilators may finish up taking over for the Guardians.
Not to mention the strange tweet James Gunn made in 2017 while working on Vol. 3, posting a photo of a VHS player with a Quasar brand sticker on it.
