Thanksgiving Day Will Be Closed for Everyone's Favorites

Unfortunately, you won't be able to rush to these locations if you want to avoid the turkey and gravy
Thanksgiving dinner may be more like Thanksgiving lunch, depending on your customs. Your Thanksgiving turkey might be replaced with a Thanksgiving porchetta. Alternatively, you might forego the homemade spread entirely and order from a restaurant or a grocery store.

However, not everywhere will be open on Thanksgiving Day, and some of the places you may expect to be open throughout the holidays will be closed. Here are the places you should avoid on Thanksgiving because their doors will be closed and the lights will be turned out.
Chick-fil-A: It should come as no surprise that Chick-fil-A would be closed on Thanksgiving Day, given the company's policy of not operating on Sundays and its current (limited) trial of three-day work weeks. According to the company's website, "holiday hours may vary, and all Chick-fil-A locations are closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day so restaurant Team Members may spend time with family and friends."
Taco Bell: Unfortunately, there is no way to get a Crunchwrap or Baja Blast on Thanksgiving. Taco Bell's website states that the restaurant is closed for the holiday.
Costco: For many of us, last-minute Thanksgiving food shopping is second nature. We're all aware that the big feast is approaching, yet someone always forgets the bread, or the overcooked baked pie has to be replaced. Though Costco usually has enough bulk purchases to feed an army, you won't be able to stop in at the last minute on Thanksgiving Day. According to the website, the wholesale chain will shut.
ALDI: ALDI has launched Thanksgiving Price Rewind, which provides new reduced prices on traditional holiday cooking components. The sale is valid through November 29, and holiday products will be discounted to match the price of the items in 2019. According to a press statement obtained by The Takeout, the reductions will be up to 30% off the current in-store pricing. It's almost as though the grocery store is attempting to make up for being closed on Thanksgiving.

These closures may be inconvenient for some last-minute shoppers or anybody hoping to eat something other than turkey on November 24, but what's remarkable about this list is how short it is. Most restaurants are open on Thanksgiving; it's more difficult to discover a food-related business that's closed than those that intend to stay open, staffing people throughout the day who would otherwise be celebrating with their family. I'm grateful that employees at Taco Bell, Costco, and other corporations may take a vacation. Those who do not, let us make their holiday as pleasant and uneventful as possible.
