Soon, Marvel Snap will allow you to play against friends

You'll soon be able to crush your buddies in the popular superhero card game
"How should I play with you?"

"That's the first question my friend asked when I hooked him on Marvel Snap. "You can't," I said. That, however, will not be the case for long. The producers of the mega-popular mobile card game have stated that the opportunity to compete against pals will be available within the next two months.

A spokeswoman for developer Second Dinner confirmed to the Washington Post today that the long-awaited "Battle Mode Vs. Friends" feature will appear "this calendar year." With this update, Marvel Snap will join the ranks of a slew of other competitive mobile games that put your real-life connections to the test, from Hearthstone to Words With Friends.

However, it will not function precisely like the game's usual ranked mode. Instead, each player will be granted 10 health and will fight match after match until one of them runs out of points. Snapping will boost the amount of health they can win or lose, reducing conflicts with people attempting to farm ranks through one another.

Second Dinner is also developing on a variety of other new features for Marvel Snap, including guilds and social networks, in-game events, and other competitive modes, as previously stated. The free-to-play game was just released in Early Access on Steam for PC.

As much as I enjoy luring strangers into snapping early just to turn the tables on turn five, I'm eager to laugh, weep, and mourn with genuine folks I know about my triumphs and defeats. This will also give a foolproof method for individuals to ensure they're playing versus a human rather than a machine. Perhaps more than anything else, I'm looking forward to seeing two Agathas go toe-to-toe.
