Apple Watch has two new functions with watchOS 9.1
If you use your Apple Watch frequently, you're probably seeking for methods to increase its battery life. Apple has made your life a little simpler by adding one more function to help you get the job done.
With watchOS 9.1, you may limit the frequency of heart rate and GPS readings for some workouts, extending the battery life of your Apple Watch. The caveat is that you must possess one of Apple's most current Apple Watch models to use this feature.

If you have an Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch SE (second generation), or an Apple Watch Ultra, you may change the frequency of GPS and heart rate readings under the workout settings.
You will get slightly less accurate data if you reduce the frequency of these measurements. It is, nevertheless, useful when your watch is close to run out of battery power. This function is accessible in the Outdoor Walk, Outdoor Run, and Hiking workout modes.
It's perplexing that the models that may benefit the most from this function (older Apple Watch devices with poor battery health) are barred from utilizing it. One can only hope that Apple will ultimately add it to previous Apple Watch devices as well.
The release candidate version of watchOS 9.1 is now available on the public beta channel, which means you may install it right away by registering your watch in Apple's testing program. Because this is a release candidate, the program should be reliable and free of bugs that you would encounter with a beta. If you'd rather avoid the beta program entirely, Apple will release watchOS 9.1 to the public on Monday, Oct. 24.
Download tunes without having to charge your watch
After installing watchOS 9.1, you'll be able to download Apple Music tracks without having to charge your watch.
This functionality is rather hidden. Open any playlist or album in the Music app to get there. Select View Album or View Playlist by tapping the three dots. Tap the three dots once again and choose Download.
When you first do this, your Apple Watch will ask if you want to download music while it is charging. Using the Digital Crown, scroll down and select Download Now. Downloading songs to your Apple Watch becomes significantly easier as a result.
It's also worth mentioning that watchOS 9.1 adds Matter smart home connectivity to your Apple Watch. If you have a large number of smart home gadgets, those that implement the Matter standard will be able to communicate more simply. This means you should be able to operate smart home gadgets from different companies with your Apple Watch.
