Hopefully, your Valentine(s) is showing you some love today. If not, how about a present from the nation's largest passenger railroad? Amtrak is now running a buy-one-get-one-free (BOGO) ticket promotion until February 16th as part of their Amtrak Loves You Sale.
While the deal is only available for a few more days, tickets purchased by February 16 allow you to bring along a friend for free for the following six months, from March 1, 2022 to August 31, 2022.
Amtrak BOGO offer
The bargain is "eligible for travel in Coach class nationally on most routes and also on Acela Business Class in the Northeast," according to the Amtrak website. Adult one-way rates for some of the carrier's most popular routes begin at:
- Coach from New York to Philadelphia costs $18; Acela business class costs $51.
- From Philadelphia to Washington, D.C., coach tickets are $18 while Acela business class tickets are $57.
- From Boston to New York, the coach fare is $29; the Acela fare is $69
- Coach from New York to Providence costs $25; Acela costs $66.
- Washington, D.C. Coach fare to Atlanta is $106.00.
- Coach fare from Chicago to Milwaukee is $25.
- Coach fare from New York to Chicago is $90.
- Coach fare from Charlotte to New York is $101.
- Coach fare from Los Angeles to Seattle is $101.
- Coach fare from Oklahoma City to Fort Worth is $31.

The little print
Please keep in mind that these are beginning prices and are not applicable on all trains at all times. Fares are non-refundable once purchased, however exchanges are possible before to planned departure. There are no further savings, and both the adult and companion must be booked in the same reservation and travel together. The BOGO offer does not apply to the Auto Train, Pennsylvanian, Keystone Service, or the 7000-8999 Thruways.
