And this time its a Card game, Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars
PlayStation, or more precisely PSN, has unintentionally released a major new PS4 game that will likely be announced soon. The Twitter account "PSN Releases," a bot with some sort of back-end access to PSN, has transmitted information that a game named Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars has been posted to the PS4 PSN in Asia under the id CUSA27401, as it frequently does.
We don't know what this game is, but we do know it's from Square Enix, the creators of Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and many other award-winning series, including those that are synonymous with PlayStation. What evidence do we have?
Because Square Enix previously trademarked both Voice of Cards and The Isle Dragon Roars. In other words, either this is a Square Enix game or Square Enix's attorneys need to call.
The name implies a new IP, although it's worth noting that this might be a codename, a placeholder, or even a working title, all of which Square Enix is known to use. It's unclear what IP it may be connected to if it isn't a new IP. The name, one again, does not ring any bells.
At the time of publication, neither PlayStation nor Square Enix had made any comments about the leak. We don't expect either to comment on leaks, so we don't anticipate this to change, but if it does, we'll make sure to update the report. Meanwhile, look for an official announcement shortly.
When an unannounced game gets published to PSN, it's usually a strong indicator that an announcement is on the way. In reality, it's typically a sign that a release isn't far away, since this upload is likely to secure pre-orders, which implies the game needs a release date, or because a public alpha or beta is on the way. In any case, expect this to not only be unveiled shortly, but also to be released soon.
