Could Hardy play Wolverine in a new Disney+ show?

Hugh Jackman Wants Tom Hardy to Be the Next Wolverine

We'd all love to see Hugh Jackman play Wolverine again, but after 17 years in the role and at the age of 52 that's unlikely to ever happen. Still, the man who made his name playing Logan has already revealed who he'd like to see starring in the role next: Tom Hardy.

Speaking to MTV ahead of the release of his last outing as Wolverine in Logan, Jackman said:
"I've been asked the question a lot and I'm always like, 'I don't want to make it too easy on the studio to replace me.'
"I'm sure they're already talking about it, that some actor out there they've already said, 'Shhhh... keep it quiet but we want you next.'"
"He's younger than me for sure, I think Tom Hardy would be great."

While we're not too sure when we'll next see Wolverine on the big screen, having gained the rights to the X-Men franchise thanks to the 2019's Disney/Fox merger, it's been reported that Marvel Studios is already working on a new X-Men film, which will be called The Mutants.

The Illuminerdi reported in March that the Marvel Studios-led project, produced by the company's CEO Kevin Feige, is currently being developed and will completely reboot the X-Men franchise.

Meanwhile, another entertainment site, Murphy's Multiverse, also reported that a Wolverine TV show is in development for Disney+.

Could either of those be the first time we see Hardy with a pair of adamantium claws? We'll have to wait and see.
