How a First-Time director Pulled Off a 12 minute action packed scene in a Single Shot
Sam Hargrave is the man behind the now one of the top Movie being watched in Netflix.
The movie's plot was just the same as others, Rival Families, a kid being kidnapped, hired a Professional to do the work, Corruption within authorities, and the action begins.
What makes the movie so interesting to watch is the 12 minute single shot action scene, where there are 2 Car Chase, a more chase on Foot, Gun Battles, Knife Battle, and more Hand to Hand Combat, and Tons of Explosion.
So the question is how did they make this 12 minute Action Packed scene that consist of all mentioned above? simply PRACTICE.
Sam admitted that there a lot of Camera tricks that are used, and it's not actually a Single Shot scene without a cut, Practice and a lot of study, they made a spectacular scene, including 36 different Stitches and Blending.
The former Stun Coordinator also added in an interview that there is a 5 Months of Planning, Concept to Execution. They even Practice in their Hotel Rooms, and Local Gyms to make the scene so Perfect.
But aside from that, we noticed that in that fight scene, there is a resemblance of the movie John Wick, who is now known form the single gun shots kill. He killed the enemies with Single shot of bullet.
They sequences in Ban Pong, Ratchaburi and Thailand, but the most part is taken in Ahmedabad and Mumbai, but the most especially in Dhaka. That is why you cannot have a 100% control of the crowd. There is a Crowd everywhere even if there is a Gun or Knife fight, and it seems like they are just watching rather that running for their safely.
Well Extraction is a good movie for almost 2 hours, the story is not that new, but how they execute the scenes are the best thing in this movie.
