13 Types of Games You Could Find in Cybercafe

Have you ever been to a Cybercafé? Have you ever wondered what it is like and what kinds of people go there? At least once, you will enter a cybercafe and encounter these different kinds of personalities and types of interactions between gamers that show the culture of the cybercafé.

1. The Screamers
"AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH"

The screamers are people that yell random things out loud when playing. Whether it be blurting out a witty remark, insulting to trash talk, or even swearing, the screamers will surely make the cybercafé livelier. The screamers may be sometimes annoying if they keep yelling over and over again, but you can be sure that your energy level will try to keep up with theirs . The screamers usually play on a LAN (local area network) or team-oriented games with friends wherein he will yell so loud in the cybercafé just to be heard by the others.
2. The Steamheads

On a gaming cybercafé, the most expressed emotion is anger over a game that was lost. The Steamheads are usually flamers who whine, complain, blame and insult others unnecessarily during a game. Because of their inability to control their anger, Steamheads channel their displeasure by “flaming” or blaming and insulting their teammates with intentions of hurting their feelings at the heat of the moment.  The Steamheads inside the cybercafé usually play LAN and flame others verbally and directly as opposed to the flamers on the internet.

These types of gamers want to play by themselves in the cybercafé. However, more often than not, these gamers play with other players online through cyberspace. They usually go for the RPG, MMORPG and offline games such as Dragon Nest, Diablo, Final Fantasy Grand Theft Auto and many more.

4. The Spectators
Look at all that attention!

It is true that watching games can be entertaining. The spectators are like a smaller audience in the cybercafé that observes the gameplay of their friends and others. These spectators are obviously also gamers too but instead of playing, they would rather watch others in their games. If they ever watch you play, they can do three things:
1. Watch your game silently.
2. Criticize your gameplay and make blatant comments behind your back.
3. Shouts in awe at the “sick plays” you make while watching your game.

5. The Know-it-all

Friends might introduce you a game and teach you how to play. However, the Know-it-all makes it known that he is better without being insightful. The Know-it-all is the one who will try to teach other gamers on how to play a certain way. While it is helpful to be given information unknown before, this person will claim to have “perfect” knowledge and experience over the game and will point out all the mistakes that one might make, all the time. It gets to a point where the know-it-all brags about his superiority above others in terms of playing the game.

The captain is the leader of the team in a competitive team game. However, the acting captain will be that pretentious boss who takes control over the commanding position of leading the team even when the others are not interested in following at all.

7. The Newbies
On the internet, nobody knows you're a dog!

When people are new to games, they constantly ask a lot of questions on how to play the game. That is exactly what the newbies do. Some newbies are full of pride, however, and will act according only to how they believe the game should be played.

8. The Multi-taskers
OMG he has four arms!

Most of these multi-taskers do something else while playing. They sometimes eat, do assignments, text or watch youtube at the same time they are playing or, most often, while waiting for their character to respawn. It is intriguing as to how multi-tasking gamers can do many things at the same time while trying to focus on a game. Some can even achieve feats such as talking to their significant other while playing.

9. The Hardcore Gamer (aka overnighter)

You can see the overnighters when you see them playing at the cybercafé yesterday and see them again the following day with the same clothes they wore on the day you saw them. You might think that he or she is a camper in first-person shooters, but he or she is also be a camper in real-life having prepared a gallon of water and a week’s supply of food.

10. The Relaxed Gamer (aka raised leg)

It is unknown whether the cybercafé is a good place for relaxation, but it is no spa. Also known as the leisure gamers, the relaxed gamers usually slouch and feel like home while playing games. It seems as if they just play to relax since it looks like they are at the comfort of their own home and don’t care about their posture at all.

11. The Accessory Gamer

It’s cool to look flashy at times when you are playing games. You will see the accessory gamer with gears somewhere along the lines of a Razer gaming headset, a Steelseries gaming keyboard, and a Corsair gaming mouse. While some accessory gamers (professional gamers) truly use their gaming gears for its comfort fit as they are accustomed to using them, it is an undeniable fact that some accessory gamers bring their gaming gears to have some swag and look good like a professional gamer.

12. The Singer

As if it’s already not loud enough, the singers add even more “noise” to the cybercafé. These people think that the cybercafé can also be a karaoke bar as they sing along with the song that is playing. Sometimes, even though they are wearing headphones, they still sing their hearts out as if they were in a Celine Dion concert. This is probably because they don’t seem to hear themselves well enough to know how loud they actually are to others.

13. The Downloader

These “gamers” usually take advantage of the faster internet that the cybercafe has to offer. As such, they can download torrents of movies, anime, and TV series. They also watch live streams and even open multiple tabs of youtube videos at the same time to hog up all the bandwidth. While doing so, they will play some solitaire and other offline games (being aware of the bandwidth) to kill time while waiting for the videos to finish buffering and for downloads to complete.
