Vitamins for Kids being Mixed in a Washing Machine

This operation was initiated following a complaint from a former employee of the factory.

National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) operatives recently conducted a raid on a factory in Arayat, Pampanga, where they discovered counterfeit kiddie vitamins being mixed in a washing machine. This operation was initiated following a complaint from a former employee of the factory.
The investigation revealed that raw materials such as sugar, food coloring, and flavoring were used to create these fake supplements. According to Jun Capreso from NBI Central Luzon, the operation was extremely unsanitary, and the products contained no actual vitamins, merely flavoring and sugar. The counterfeit vitamins have reportedly been produced for nearly 20 years and were distributed across Central Luzon as well as the Visayas and Mindanao regions.

During the raid, authorities seized approximately ₱400,000 worth of fake vitamin syrup. Capreso noted that initially, the factory copied a legitimate vitamin C formula but later began altering their branding over time. The owner of the factory has been arrested and is facing charges under Republic Act No. 9711, known as the “Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009.” Authorities are urging the public to purchase vitamins and medicines only from licensed drug stores to ensure safety and legitimacy.
