[REVIEW] Atlas

[REVIEW] Atlas

JLo Saves the Day in ATLAS from Netflix; it was entertaining but not groundbreaking. But who needs ground-breaking when you have Jennifer Lopez?
Ever wondered what Jennifer Lopez would be like battling robots in a giant mech suit?  Well, wonder no more!  Netflix's "Atlas" throws JLo into a future where AI has gone rogue, and let's just say things get explosive.

Imagine yelling at your computer for suggesting the wrong restaurant, now crank that frustration up to 11 and stick yourself in a giant robot.  That's basically Atlas Shepard (JLo) dealing with her AI partner, Smith (voiced by Gregory James Cohen).  They gotta work together though, because a supervillain AI named Harland (Simu Liu) is on a rampage.

"Atlas" is all about giant robot fights, cheesy one-liners, and JLo acting the heck out of every scene.  The story itself might feel a bit familiar, but the action sequences are awesome (think "Titanfall" meets Michael Bay), and  JLo's charisma is off the charts.

Look, "Atlas" ain't gonna win any Oscars for originality.  But if you want a fun flick with killer action and JLo at her most badass, then this movie delivers.   Just don't expect a deep dive into the future of AI.
Thumbs up for: JLo fans, sci-fi action junkies, and anyone who appreciates a good robot brawl.
Thumbs down for: Folks looking for a mind-blowing sci-fi story or something super original.
Basically, grab some snacks, settle in for some laughs and explosions, and let JLo save the day!
