Valve has officially announced the release of Counter-Strike 2, and lucky fans who meet specific criteria can join the limited beta test this week. Although Valve has not set a specific end date for this first phase, players can enjoy all their weapon finishes, stickers, and other CS:GO inventory items, but they cannot modify inventory items within the game. Here's how to get access to the Counter-Strike 2 limited test.

Gain Access to the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test

Valve's development team has identified several factors that will determine who gets into the early preview of Counter-Strike 2. Recent playtime on Valve official servers, trust factor, and Steam account standing are crucial, and those who meet the criteria will receive a notification on the CS:GO main menu. Keep checking the main menu regularly for updates on whether you've received an invitation, as more players will be added over time.

Once you receive your invitation, select "ENROLL" and start your download. After the download is complete, choose the "Limited Test" option to start playing.

Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test Features

Valve will offer Deathmatch and Unranked Competitive matchmaking on the Dust2 map during this initial phase, and other game modes, maps, and features will be added to future limited test releases. Experience points earned in the limited test will carry over to CS:GO, and players can stream and make videos about their experience.

Counter-Strike 2 is expected to launch in Summer 2023 and will be available as a free upgrade to CS:GO. With the game officially revealed, Valve has shared more technical details about the sequel, including realistic smoke grenades, an evolved tick rate, and completely rebuilt maps using new Source 2 tools and rendering features.
