Run-and-gun game Metal Slug: Awakening, earlier known simply as Metal Slug Code: J, was created by subsidiary TiMi Studios and distributed by Tencent Games for iOS and Android. Its releasing date is not yet known. However, beginning June 2021, various beta testing have been conducted in a few nations.
After the first game in the Metal Slug series was completed in 1996, Nazca Corporation and SNK merged, giving rise to the run-and-gun video game series known in Japan as Metal Slug (Japanese:, Hepburn: Metaru Suraggu). Among the spin-off titles are a third-person shooter to mark the series' tenth anniversary and a tower defense game for mobile devices. The original games were developed for Neo-Geo arcade machines (MVS) and Neo-Geo home game consoles (AES) hardware, and over time, they were also ported to other consoles and mobile platforms. Later games were developed for a variety of additional platforms. The Peregrine Falcon Squad, a tiny squad of troops engaged in combat with aliens, zombies, mummies, and other entities bent on world dominance, is the main focus of the games.SOURCE
