After flopping in theaters, Morbius receives the first-ever LEGO set. Despite the film's underwhelming box office success, Morbius has gotten a LEGO kit
While fans are unsure of Tom Holland's Spider-Man 4's status inside the MCU, the same cannot be said about Sony's Spider-Man Universe, which has yet to contain a web-slinger.
Despite the possibility that this would alter with Madame Web, many anticipated Morbius in 2022 to be the Sony spin-off to include the webhead, especially considering the film's deceptive marketing.
Unfortunately, the absence of a Peter Parker or Miles Morales was not the film's sole flaw.
Instead, viewers felt the Jared Leto-led film to be yet another failure from Spidey's home studio, and those feelings were reflected in the box office during its initial release and subsequent surprise rerelease.
Despite Morbius's twofold financial failure, the Marvel character has resurfaced, this time in the form of a LEGO playset.
Morbius' First LEGO Set Has Been Revealed
Brickset has introduced the first-ever LEGO set inspired by the Spider-Man character, Morbius, for those wishing to make it Morbin' time all the time.
The important term in characterizing this item is "inspired," as the incident shown in the playset did not occur in the Jared Leto film.
This 220-piece set, titled "Miles Morales vs. Morbius," pits Miles and his super-powered Spidey vehicle against the diabolical Dr. Michael Morbius.
The following is the playset's description:
"Help Miles Morales catch the vampire villain Morbius. Race through the streets in Miles’s super racer car. Use the booster at the back of the car for extra power, then fire the 2 stud shooters as you get close. When Morbius calls bats to come to his rescue, sling a web to stick him up for good!"
"Miles Morales vs. Morbius" is one of many Marvel LEGO playsets due out in 2023.
Will Morbius and Miles ever meet on screen?
Morbius' dismal response makes the character's inclusion in a LEGO set rather odd.
This Michael Morbius Minifigure, on the other hand, is more authentic to the comic book depiction of the character.
Furthermore, the action depicted on the box is more in line with what consumers would have like to see in the Sony picture.
It's doubtful that Leto will reprise his role as Morbius, but his LEGO adversary Miles Morales will appear in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in 2023.
Given that the first Into the Spider-Verse featured different animation versions of live-action villains, an animated Morbius cameo is plausible.
It remains to be seen if Sony would be willing to bring the living vampire to the big screen a third time.
