The 2023 Toyota Prius is the most beautiful Prius ever

Toyota has launched the fifth-generation Prius, which promises more range and a sleek new design. It'll also be on display at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week
For decades, the Toyota Prius was the automobile to own if you wanted people to know you cared about the environment. Its hybrid powertrain provided excellent fuel efficiency, and its distinctive appearance made it stand out from the crowd. However, its throne has been eroding in recent years as Tesla and other EVs like Hyundai and Kia have entered the market to grab its eco-conscious customers. Toyota, on the other hand, is preparing to debut a sleek new fifth-generation Prius in an attempt to reclaim the crown.

The new Prius for Europe and Japan has been shown, and things are changing for the hybrid Toyota. The Prius now has a new 2-liter hybrid powertrain, increased all-electric range, and a sleek new design. Surprisingly, the new automobile looks fantastic.
On the surface, it still resembles a Prius. There's the flat back end, sharp nose, and posture that gives the impression of a high rake. However, practically every body panel has been altered and fine-tuned to improve the overall appearance of the vehicle.

There's a new lighting arrangement up front that's trendy without feeling like a sci-fi gimmick. In profile, the Prius now has a Mazda-like appearance, which I mean as a compliment.

But, since this is a Prius, what's below counts more than what's on the outside. Toyota will introduce the 2023 Prius in Europe and Japan with a new two-liter plug-in hybrid system or as a classic parallel hybrid.

The new Prius PHEV features a bigger two-liter engine than the previous model, but Toyota promises the same degree of fuel economy. The carmaker also claims that the plug-in will have 50% longer electric-only range than the current model. Because the present model claims 25 miles on a single charge, we should expect this one to get roughly 37.5 miles.

The PHEV, which generates 220hp from its engine and electric motors, will be the most powerful option next year. Toyota claims that this is enough to drive the new Prius from 0 to 62 mph in 6.7 seconds.
If you don't want your Prius to come with a plug, Toyota also offers 1.8-liter and two-liter parallel hybrids. The two-liter variant now has 190hp, and both are equipped with Toyota's electric all-wheel-drive technology for greater performance uphill and on snowy routes.

These stats are only for the European and Japanese Prius; we'll have to wait for Toyota to confirm which models will be sold in the United States to see how they do.
The interior of the Prius 23 has also been updated. The dashboard is still mostly composed of screens, although it is much more sophisticated than the previous generation.

The massive center console screen has been shrunk and now rests in landscape position on the dashboard. It's accompanied by a slew of tactile buttons for some of the vehicle's functions.

Another panel behind the wheel displays your current speed, fuel level, and battery level in the plug-in. It's a pleasant shift from the previous Prius' big central screen, which displayed all of that information.

Then there's the additional technology and safety features that Toyota has packed into the 2023 Prius.

You may anticipate parking assist and front and back cameras to detect road dangers. There is also an in-vehicle drive recorder to track your driving performance.

All of this adds up to some significant improvements for the Prius. What are your thoughts?
