The Nissan GT-R, thought to be extinct, is set to return in 2023

We anticipated the worst when there was no 2022 model-year GT-R. However, Nissan has just declared that Godzilla will continue to exist until 2023
Oh, the Nissan GT-R: when no 2022 model appeared in the United States, most people felt it was gone, and why wouldn't they? It's an old automobile that was discontinued in Europe. Nissan continued to offer 2021 models into 2022, although this appeared to be the end of the line. True or false: Godzilla is not dead. It was merely resting, preparing to return to the United States in 2023.

That's right: Nissan revealed a 2023 GT-R for the United States today. And believe us, we're as astonished as you are. Also, we're still a bit perplexed by the whole "'21s sold in '22 but now there are '23s" thing, but here we are, all in this very perplexing GT-R boat together.
The 2023 Nissan GT-R is not a brand-new vehicle, as evidenced by the photographs. We apologize if you believed this was an announcement confirming an all new R36 generation. But, in any case, on to the updates.

Actually, there don't appear to be any big revisions. The important specs for the freshly resurrected GT-R remain identical. The standard model has 565 horsepower and 467 lb-ft of torque, while the NISMO model has 600 hp and 481 lb-ft of torque. The all-wheel-drive system and the six-speed dual-clutch gearbox remain unchanged.
What about the interior and technology? It's the same as when we feared the GT-R had perished the last time. The good news is that Nissan did add Apple CarPlay and the legally necessary backup camera to the GT-R along the road, which weren't available when this model launched in 2009. Android Auto, on the other hand, is yet to be invited to the party.

The most significant change is the removal of the T-Spec and NISMO Special Edition packages. The sole options for '23 are the standard model, which Nissan rather confusingly refers to as the GT-R Premium, and the NISMO.
In terms of pricing, the normal GT-R costs $113,540 before taxes and fees, while the NISMO costs $210,740. There are plenty other ultra-high-performance vehicles available for base GT-R money, like as the $105,300 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, but if you really want a new GT-R, hey, now you can.
