MSI unveiled a new line of 12th-generation CPU laptops for gamers and video makers at CES 2022, all of which are outfitted with the newest 12th Gen Intel H series processors
MSI GS77 Stealth
For all the right reasons, MSI's lightweight Stealth line is likely the company's most popular. It combines a slim chassis that does not resemble a classic hefty gaming laptop, all while maintaining strong internals. The new 17-inch GS77 features a redesigned middle hinge design and comes pre-installed with Microsoft's Windows 11.
The gaming laptop will be offered in three configurations: a 17.3-inch UHD display with 120Hz refresh rate, a 17.3-inch QHD 240Hz display, and a 17.3-inch FHD 360Hz display. SteelSeries developed the laptop's keyboard, which boasts per-key RGB illumination, and the lightweight computer has four USB connections.
The GS77 also includes a 1080p webcam with Windows Hello compatibility.
MSI's newest Stealth series addition comes standard with an i7-12550H CPU, 16GB RAM, and an RTX 3060 graphics card, but you can upgrade to an i9-12900H processor, a 3080 Ti graphics card, and 32GB RAM.
MSI Raider GE76
When opposed to the Stealth series, the Raider line-up sacrifices compactness and mobility; nonetheless, it seeks to give customers with overclocking possibilities as well as astounding performance. The Raider GE76, like its Stealth cousin, comes with Windows 11 pre-installed and may be configured with Intel's 12th-generation i9 CPU.
It, too, has three display options: a 17.3-inch UHD display that runs at 120Hz, a 17.3-inch QHD 240Hz display, and a 17.3-inch FHD 360Hz display. The Raider GE76 may be outfitted with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and MSI's proprietary OverBoost technology.
It has one USB Type-C port, one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A port, and two standard 3.2 Type-A ports.
The MSI Raider GE76 is available with either an Intel Core i7-12700H processor and an Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU or an Intel Core i9-12900HK CPU and an Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti GPU.
MSI Vector GP76
MSI announced the Vector series at CES, and the firm refers to these laptops as "Metaverse ready." It contains Intel's 12th-generation Core i9 CPUs, up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 GPU, and MSI's Cooler Boost 5 technology to let the laptop reach power levels of up to 210W with OverBoost.
It has a 17.3-inch QHD 240Hz display, one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C connector, three USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports, and supports up to 64GB of DDR4-3200 RAM.
The laptop does not have a 'hardcore gamer' appearance, and it can be utilized for meetings and other professional endeavors owing to the 720p built-in webcam.
MSI, on the other hand, showcased three content creator-focused laptops: the Creator Z17, Creator Z16P, and Creator Z16.
These laptops, according to MSI, have color-calibrated displays for digital artists and video professionals alike. The Z17 is a 17-inch laptop that can be customized up to the latest 12th Gen Intel Core i9-12900H CPU and comes pre-installed with Windows 11. It has a QHD+ touchscreen display with a refresh rate of 165Hz and MSI's True Color Technology.
On the graphics front, the laptop can be customized with up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GPU and a maximum of 64GB DDR5 RAM, making the Z17 a good choice for content makers who also want to game. It has a per-key RGB keyboard created by SteelSeries, four 2W stereo speakers, and an audio jack.
MSI Creator Z16P
The Creator Z16P, on the other hand, has a smaller 16-inch QHD+ touchscreen display with a refresh rate of 165Hz. The Z16P is distinguished by its ability to outperform the Z17 by 20%, according to MSI's Vapor Chamber Cooler, which the firm claims "generates 76 percent more cooling area, 65 percent more airflow, and reduces the surface temperature by 2°C(3.6°F)."
The Z16P, like all of the other laptops on our list, comes with Windows 11 pre-installed and can be customized with up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GPU and 64GB of RAM.
MSI's Creator Z16, featuring a 16-inch QHD+ 120Hz touchscreen display, comes in last on the list of creator-focused laptops. In contrast to the other two creator laptops, the Z16's top option includes a 12th-generation i7 CPU and a lesser RTX 3060 GPU. The Z16 comes with four 2W stereo speakers, a fingerprint reader, a SteelSeries per-key RGB keyboard, up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM, and a variety of connections.
