Think more than ONCE, if you want to but Huawei MatePad Pro
Announced in November of 2019, Huawei said that they will release a Tablet worldwide, good thing that they could also sell outside China, but I don’t know if this will be also available in US.
The Huawei MatePad Pro is a Tablet with 10.8” IPS Display, and they claims that they use the same Technology that Apple uses to make iPads.
Display has 2560x1600 resolution for a 10.8” screen, that would make almost around 86% of the front side of the device. The Screen Bezel is thin, yes, but does it really matter? Well maybe if you are a screen freak, but looking at the screen, there is a black circular object that looks like floating on top of the screen. And it’s the Front Camera.
Front Camera is 8MP with HDR, 1080p @ 30fps just for taking Selfies and Video Chat
Back Camera is 13MP also with HDR and 1080p or 2160p both @ 30fps, but added Panorama feature.
There is a 4 Stereo built-in Speaker, they said the speaker is Tuned by Harman Kardon. Same manufacturer that partnered with JBL and AKG.
“Harman Kardon is a division of Stamford-based Harman International Industries, a subsidiary of South Korean firm Samsung Electronics, and manufactures home and car audio equipment. It was its original division, founded in 1953 by Sidney Harman and Bernard Kardon.”But unfortunately, just like Apple, Huawei did not put any 3.5 Audio port for this Huawei MatePad, so expect that Huawei will announce a new Audio device really soon.
Fast charging is offered with 40W and 15W for wireless charging. It is if you use its own Wall Adapter, and not charging via USB port.
Maybe the Memory for this device is not Upgradable that ranges from the following:
128 GB with 6 GB of RAM
256 GB with 8 GB of RAM
512 GB with 8 GB of RAM
Also with a dedicated slot for Huawei’s Self Manufactured Nano Memory (NM) card which is up to 256 GB. But this would be one of the problem, just remember when Sony offers their own Memory Stick for PSP?
Still, fans says that this Huawei MatePad Pro is a iPad Pro (2020) competitor? well it’s for you to say, here are some comparison
The biggest regret for Huawei MatePad Pro is the Google Play Store, because of USA Bans products from China, or China is banned from using the resources that USA had, Huawei is also ban from accessing Google Play Store, so expect that not all Apps that you used before will be available in MatePad Pro.
However I still want to try this thing out maybe for about a month, just to experience the comfortably of it's Keyboard, if it's worthy as Windows Surface alternative.
