Cristine Reyes is just like John Wick
First, this movie is great, with a good timing, for the showing
of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.
Well actually the story is a bit like John Wick, but instead of
the goons killed a Dog, they killed Maria’s family after retiring from being an
Assassin.
Maria is an action packed
movie that focuses more on fight scenes, Cristine made it look good for doing
most of her fight scenes, maybe thanks to her husband Ali Khatibi that is a MMA
Figher.
Hand to hand combat was good in
this, but the actors need more training to have more realistic moves, and do
not seemingly choreographed. Gunfights is a good addition, but maybe next time
also actors have to train how to hold, point, and shoot a gun.
The things I have noticed on
this movie are:
When Maria slashes her
enemies using a knife, blood splat everywhere, but there is no marks on the
body of the victim.
Next is the Aerial Drone Shots that keeps on establishing the next
location.
The acting is maybe a little off, especially if they are
delivering their lines in Filipino. Maybe next time more experienced actors.
However, over all, this is a great movie, a story about revenge;
on how GIRLS should know how to fight, and when to fight.
